Business Development Officer - Industry & Investment NSW (formerly NSW Dept of State & Regional Development)
Peter joined the Albury office of Industry & Investment NSW (formerly NSW Dept of State & Regional Development) as a Business Development Officer in 2007. In those short three years he has secured significant investment and jobs for the Murray and Riverina region. In late 2009 Peter was trusted with the role of acting Regional Manager then acting Assistant Regional Director (Southern Region) until the present. These roles have allowed Peter to gain an extensive knowledge of business investment programs, regional growth plans and innovation in industry sectors including food processing, metal and transport industries.
Peter’s previous job position was Treatment Business Unit Manager with North East Water in Wodonga. This position involved managing 30 water and 19 wastewater treatment plants, 30 staff and a large operational budget. This, along with his work at I&I NSW, has enabled Peter to acquire invaluable experience in water issues encountered by regional businesses both inside and outside the town envelope.
In a previous life Peter was employed in the private sector as a vital cog in the Manufacturing Management Team at Masterfoods Petcare Wodonga for 15 years. This position involved working in the areas of environmental management , training and factory project implementation fields. Again Peter was tasked with managing staff and contractors and a large suite of service contracts.
Peter enjoys the thrill of a new challenge, interacting with clients and colleagues, getting the job done, and identifying and subsequently reducing inefficiencies in the process. The way something has always been done isn’t necessarily the way it will be done in the future. |
