With over 30 years working in the training and development field Mick has accumulated a wealth of experience and knowledge in assisting people to develop and improve their businesses. He held a senior management role with the Commonwealth government’s employment and training portfolio in both Victoria and the Northern Territory for many years. In 1995 Mick established his own management consultancy practice in Darwin specialising in human resource management. Over the next 10 years Mick consulted to a diverse range of businesses and clients throughout the Northern Territory, north Western Australia and in the north west of Queensland. During the 20 years he spent in Darwin, Mick became heavily involved in the establishment of group training facilities in the Northern Territory. His long, active and extensive involvement on the Board of Group Training Northern Territory (10 years as Chairman), was recognised with Life Membership of Group Training Australia. Today Mick still continues his commitment to group training through Board membership of Group Training and Employment Services (GTES) in Wagga Wagga. Since returning to the Border Region in 2006, Mick has become involved in the provision of business mentoring and advisory services. His ability to communicate and pass on his extensive practical experience in the areas of business development, human resource management, vocational education/training matters to small business owners coupled with his formal credentials as a Fellow of the Australian Institute of Company Director’s (AICD) makes him an invaluable resource to clients of the Murray Hume Business Enterprise Centre where he currently works as their Senior Business Advisor. |
