Howard Hinde holds a Bachelor of Commerce Degree from Melbourne University, is a Fellow of both the Institute of Charterd Accountants and Certified Public Accountants.

Whilst practicing as a Chartered Accountant throughout his business carrer, Howard has also been involved as Chief Executive of a number of commercial enterprises. He was the CEO of two mining exploration companies in the early 70's, both listed public companies and he was Chairman of one.

He was CEO of a large property and investment group and spent a number of years based in London. Later as CEO of an optical retail chain, he led this business from a small beginning to a major player in the industry.

As a Chartered Accountant he was a Partner in a number of national firms, and established his own practice in 1983. He was a the tax and financial advisor, and later a Director of the Australian operations of the largest offshore construction company in the world. He and a partner developed and operated an offshore shallow water pipe laying business based in Dubai UAE which they closed soon after the 9/11 terrorist attack.  

Howard retired from practice 10 years ago, to concentrate on the family optical business, property development and beef cattle farming. He has been a member of The Albury-Hume Rotary Club for 15 years and is President of the club for 2010-2011. He is Chairman of the Uiver Memorial Community Trust and President of the Albury Branch of the Liberal Party. Howard is married to Deborah and they have two children, Jessica and Hannah.
